Prof. Makram Ibrahim is currently the Head of Solar and Space Research Department (NRIAG). He received the MSc. in satellite laser ranging at Helwan Observatory (1992) from Zagazig University, Egypt. He has completed his Dr Eng. from Hokkaido University, Japan in the statistical properties of laser speckles with long spatial correlations since 1998. He is a member of the Optical Society of Japan from 1996 to 2001, Member of the International Astronomical Unit (IAU) since 2015, Member of the Committee of Space Research (COSPAR) since 2014, Member of the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) since 2000, Member of the ILRS Space Debris Study Group (SDSG) since 2015. He published more than 50 papers in reputed journals and conferences. His Research Interests are Satellite Laser Ranging and their applications, Satellite Tracking Techniques, Space Physics.
