The Scientific Society of Astronomy and Space (SSASEgypt) is a registered civil society under number 9820 on 3^rd of March, 2015. It is a scientific association specializing in astronomy, with the aim of outreach of astronomy and intellectual awareness in all aspects of astronomy. The society seeks to simplify and disseminate this science, especially to Egyptians, and generally to Arab brethren, and enhance the level of astronomical knowledge in Egypt. It also aims to foster collaboration among Egyptian and Arab astronomers, to promote astronomical culture, and to exchange information and ideas with other astronomical societies.

The society, led by Prof. Dr. Hadia Selim, a professor in the Department of Astronomy at the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), conducts its activities through a website, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Additionally, it publishes a scientific-cultural magazine and organizes seminars, schools, and specialized astronomical workshops. The society encourages astronomers to publish research in specialized international scientific journals and facilitates the participation of astronomers in activities across the Arab world.
