It is my pleasure to welcome you to the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG). NRIAG has very long history of astronomical and Geophysical observation since it was established on the year 1839 as a Royal observatory at Bollak, then moved to ABBASIA on the year1868 before it was moved to the current location at Helwan in 1903, making it the oldest research institute in North Africa and be one of world heritage sites in Science and technology.
Being dedicated to exploring the Earth and universe, we are focused on providing the needs of our researchers of, up to date, precise technologies to meet the modern scientific challenges in our fields of specialization. The research facilities of NRIAG spread all over Egypt, powered by more than 300 researchers in five scientific divisions covering every task of astronomy and geophysics
Moreover, we managed to build a worldwide cooperation network with distinguished international institutions and universities. Numerous projects and studies were completed in collaboration with national and international academic partners which qualify the staff of NRIAG for the highest level of applications.
Although it brings me a proudness to be at the lead of NRIAG, it remains a stressing responsibility to keep the institute and its staff in progress with respect to all aspects of specialization.
We are welcome to share our experiences, facilities and knowledge with the institutions and scientists interesting in doing high level research activities.
