African Disaster Mitigation Research center – ADMIR

The African Union – African Scientific Research and Innovation Council (AU-ASRIC) Center of Excellence in Disaster Mitigation (ADMiR) is a distinguished institution situated in Cairo, Egypt. It finds its home within the esteemed premises of the NRIAG National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, a historical research center that traces its origins back to 1836. ADMiR was strategically established to propel the advancement of disaster mitigation and management research, as well as foster innovation within the African continent.

ADMiR serves as a beacon of excellence, providing cutting-edge research facilities and state-of-the-art equipment, along with a team of exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable researchers, scientists, and engineers. The center’s primary objective is to tackle the multifaceted challenges posed by disasters through comprehensive research endeavors and innovative solutions.

The center’s geographical location in Egypt, a country with a rich cultural heritage and a long history of dealing with natural and man-made disasters, further strengthens its position as a hub for disaster mitigation expertise.
