The center aims to achieve the following:

1- Cooperating with regional and international professional and scientific bodies and institutions concerned with the protection and preservation of antiquities and tangible and intangible heritage, maximizing the benefit thereof, and transferring and localizing all technologies that serve national institutions.

2- Implementing research and projects in protecting and preserving antiquities and heritage within the framework of sustainable development. Also, the unit helps to provide financial support by applying to local and international financing agencies.

3- Contributing to the national plans for sustainable tourism and environmental development and community service, especially at the level of activating cultural tourism, spreading historical and archaeological awareness.

4- Supporting research projects based on creativity, innovation and non-traditional treatment using modern technological means and computer systems applications in the development of archaeological work, and providing the appropriate environment for modernizing and upgrading the mechanisms of archaeological scientific and field work.

5- Providing expert services and scientific consultations for hazardous projects and preserving antiquities by providing the necessary information in cooperation and coordination between the institute departments. Also, the unit will aim and prepare studies related to developing archaeological sites and museums.

6- The unit initiates missions to explore antiquities and participate in other missions through coordination with the ministry of antiquities and permanent antiquities committees.

7- Holding regional and international training courses and workshops in archaeo-geophysics, the management of natural risks of archaeological sites, management of archaeological sites, and methods of preserving archaeological sites.

8- Documenting, printing and publishing all the scientific and practical works and studies of all the activities of the Center and its theoretical and applied achievements, including research, studies, reports, conferences, seminars, workshops and other works of the Center, both on paper and electronically, and publishing them on the official website of the Institute on the international information network.
