Dr Susan W. Samwel is associate professor at the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), solar and space research department.  She got her B.Sc.  in Astronomy and physics in 1999 from Cairo University. She acquired her M.Sc. in 2004 and her Ph.D in 2009 in Space physics from Cairo University. Dr Samwel has a wide variety of experience in space physics with specific emphasis in the areas of the space environment and its effects on spacecraft, space radiation, and solar energetic particles (SEPs), in addition to Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR). She has published more than 30 papers in international journals and has presented many contributed talks at international conference. Dr Susan Samwel is a Scientific Discipline Representative (SDR) to Scientific Committee on Solar- Terrestrial Physics (SCOSTEP) in the field of Space Weather, International Science Council (ICS) since 2015 and a member of the International Committee for Space Sciences (COSPAR) and of the International Astronomical Union (IAU).
