Amid the Aswan Governorate celebrations, this week of the phenomenon of the sun crossing over the face of Ramses II at his Great Temple in Abu Simbel city, which takes place at dawn next Thursday corresponding to October 22, 2020, the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics was organizing in cooperation with the General Authority for the High Dam and Aswan Research Center in Aswan scientific evening entitled “The sun passes in the temple of Abu Simbel” at the African Cultural Center in Aswan.
In the presence of Engineer Hussein Jalal, Chairman of the High Dam Authority, Prof. Dr. Gad Mohamed El-Qady, President of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, and Prof. Dr. El Sayed Abdel-Azim Essawy, Director of the Seismological Research Center in Aswan, and a group of engineers and workers at the General Authority for the High Dam.
